Ah, so it does have new pads. That's probably a good thing, even if they still had half their life left. Stopping is important.

I once drove around for about a week with completely failed brakes. I only bumped into two cars, one at a downhill red light and the other was the only one at work who had a shittier car than mine and I hit that one every day to stop in the work parking lot. I was telemarketing at the time, back in college. I only drove it the route to work.
