There are surely outliers, but that doesn't mean that contact with friends and family doesn't reduce recidivism. It actually reduces it quite a bit.

That surprises me, cause everybody I know who been locked up go right back into their old habits when they reconnect with their friends

I'd suspect that's confirmation bias, as you likely mostly only associate with a certain type of person.

I mean, you can argue against it, but it's pretty clearly documented in study after study after study. I'm gonna believe them over your personal observations.

That may very well be, and most the people I associate with it is their habits that land them behind bars.
