Nothing wrong with cheap used cars. My son is out there in the rain changing the front axles and cv joints on his car right now

It takes some time in my experience. I've done it before. Plus you need to do some measurements for a basic alignment and then take it in for an alignment. As you're replacing the entire axle, you can't just count the threads and call it good. Well, you shouldn't.
