Indeed. Sonny Bono died in an accident around that time. He was skiing and slammed into a tree. A Kennedy had died in a skiing accident not long before that.

So there was a couple celebrity ski accident deaths around that time frame. Thats probably how that all got mashed together in my mind. I was pretty busy those days with a young family and married and living in a house on the beach so I wasn't consuming much news media in those days

My son was pretty young around that time. I'd have been well on my way to divorce and a move to North Carolina to open a new office.
