Damned right, they are. Every product is placed where it is for a reason and the reason isn't because it benefits the person shopping.

It's one of the reasons I don't really like all the public surveillance. I know what can be done with that data.

I don't give a shit if it's in your house or business. I care that it is in public and they'll be using that data to help manipulate us. Like stores, that manipulation may not be in the consumer's (citizen's) best interest.
