I've applied three times for a visa and I've been denied three times. Once it took about a year to get my denial.

The NorKs aren't letting me in.

However, I understand you can go to China and wait around and bribe enough people. They'll eventually let you in if you take enough time and bribe enough officials - oddly mostly Chinese officials but they're surely passing some of the bribe money on to their NorK counterparts.

I don't want to spend 6 months hanging around in China, bugging the officials daily, just to go there.

I was in a drug treatment class with a North Korean expat who was smuggled out of the country in a box on a train car.

If you lived in North Korea, I can absolutely understand turning to drugs.

Man, that place has to fuck you up mentally. They're pretty fucked as a people, with their locked down society and succession of tyrannical leaders.

He was actually busted for selling drugs and court ordered into drug treatment.

Courts are ridiculous sometimes.

I do not think he was an addict. I went off on an adventure with him one day. I went off on an adventure with everyone in the class at least once. He was one of the few who didn't want to go find some drugs or alcohol
