Nah, it was only like 22:00 and we were on break after our first or second set. I went outside to smoke a cigarette, saw the dude beating his chick, and went to town on 'em. I probably had only a few drinks into me at that point, as it was still pretty early in the night.

That makes sense. I just assumed that if you were fighting and at a bar that you must have been drunk, as you don't seem to be like the type to be looking for a fight for no reason when you're not drunk. Though drunk people fucking with you or beating a woman can certainly cause that!

It wasn't the first time I saw a dude hit a chick. This time, however, I wasn't gonna just stay idle.

I've seen a dude hit a chick and the chick deserved it. (I'm all for equal rights. If you're a chick and you hit a guy, I'm not going to hold it against the guy if he hits you back.)

In this case, they were just yelling at each other and he punched her. That's when I stepped in.

That one decision cost me a lot of money. I was pretty poor back then. Well, much more poor than I am now.

Lets see... It must have happened after 1998, 'cause I was in North Carolina at the time. It has to have been before 2000 because my lab wasn't built yet. So, it was sometime around there.

They could have made you a felon if they wanted to.

And yeah some women do deserve to be hit, but I just run away anyways, cause it would probably end up with me being arrested even if they hit me first and i hit her back.

Hopefully they just let you make payments on the medical bills
