Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask COF, Crazy, or TheBuddha.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

Seriously... If they're gonna start an FNGT, they should immediately start an archive. It stops the loss of good tunes and provides a reference for what has already been covered.

I should start charging people that want to use the FNGT moniker - like a motherfucking franchise!

They're still trying to figure out how, and if, they want to build a site. That alone takes all the qualities you mentioned and then a subset has to have them for sharing their music.

These sites attract a certain segment of people and then they need to separate the daily commentary from the musical part of their lives to an extent. It's a delicate balance, if you go for a bigger more "mainstream" site you get more interest but that starts to attract commercial interests. You lose the community connections and the honesty of the music.

I thought about starting an FNGT on Reddit. I was too lazy, or so I decided.

I can't see that turning out well. As I said, way too large and manipulated to have a feeling of familiarity or connection. I would think it would quickly attract commercial interests with the intent of promoting business. I much prefer the local bar feeling we have.
