I was rootin' around in the cellar of the archives and came across this little jewel. A nice little collaboration of some snappy guitar work of @TheBuddha and the dulcet tones of Nadeshda. Here's their version of Wham - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go

https://clyp.it/1kfdstlk

[–] 2 pts

Haha I remember that one

[–] 2 pts

Of course Buddha was spot on as usual and I thought this one really showed her voice. If this doesn't get you grinning and shaking your butt a little, you ain't right.

[–] 1 pt

I remember that one too! I still listened again!

[–] 5 pts

Good evening everyone, hope your week went well. I'll start us off with a little soft Bluesy number sung by my granddaughter. Here's a few verses of Bonnie Raitt's - I Can't Make You Love Me

https://clyp.it/shhhz33y

[–] [deleted] 4 pts

Love this song! Had that album stuck in my CD player for quite a while one year in my 20's, and saw her play it live. Hats off to your granddaughter!

[–] 2 pts

Thanks. I just wish she had done the whole song. I like she didn't elect to do the full production backing track and let it stand on its own.

[–] 2 pts

Your grand daughter has a beautiful voice, so soulful. She sounds great!

[–] 3 pts

Thank you. She moved and has started singing with a new choir and I told her at Christmas I wanted her to record some more for me.

[–] 2 pts

You're welcome. Thats awesome! I am happy she recorded this for you. I loved it!

[–] 1 pt

I'm sure Joe Biden would love to sniff her.

[–] 1 pt

403 error. Not sure if it’s just on my end or not

[–] 1 pt

Hmm, seems to work for me. Try this

https://www.hulkshare.com/nu20bq1v0w74

[–] 2 pts

That worked. Wow she has a beautiful voice! Tell her to PM me if she ever wants to do a song collaboration!

[–] 1 pt

Isn't it great when our grandchildren catch the music bug.. She has a lovely voice and her arrangement of the song suits her voice to a tee. My grandson is having me teach him to play the guitar.. it brings back memories of teaching my son to play. I'm hoping to hear more music from your granddaughter in the future.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks. Music is infectious. I have a short video of her daughter banging on her keyboard and hollerin', imitating her mom. I have another track from her with her dad playing guitar, maybe I'll post it in the future. So far she's been really shy but is starting to develop some confidence. It certainly is nice to have music as a common interest.

[–] 1 pt

Always has been the common bond between my Son and Grandson

[–] 1 pt

Man alive gorgeous voice. She could do Evergreen by Streisand.

[–] 0 pt

Thank you very much, I will suggest that to her. Streisand had an impeccable voice. I used to work for Altec-Lansing and the engineers used her recordings to evaluate new speaker designs due to the quality of her voice.

[–] 1 pt

That was beautiful. Tell her thanks for sharing her talent.

[–] 1 pt

Crap, I just noticed I replied to the wrong comment. Lol. I will tell her, thank you.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, your response made me raise an eyebrow, lol.

[–] 4 pts

I helped a friend make a demo song for an upcoming album he’d like to do. This song is called Flames of Rebellion

https://vocaroo.com/1kGIqWGG5Y4h

[–] 2 pts

Thats some heavy shit. Kind of reminds me of Slayer in some way, Was that your friend singing? What parts did you do?

[–] 3 pts

Yeah he’s singing and playing guitar. I did the rest (drums are programmed here) and mixed it.

[–] 2 pts

Cool. It sure did not sound like your voice at all. Tell him he rocks!

[–] 2 pts

Nice job on the drums and mix. What did you use for the drums?

[–] 2 pts

It’s actually a free software called MTpowerdrumkit 2. It’s my first time using it, and I am pretty happy with the results. I captured a couple snare hits and used them as samples to augment the included snare sound, but I could’ve worked with what’s in the software as well.

A lot of this drum sound comes from parallel compressing the drum shells, and saturation on the “room mics” I created using a plugin from Universal Audio, called Ocean Way Studios (I absolutely LOVE that plugin!) but I’m quite impressed with how those drums sound, especially for free software.

Hello everybody. Yesterday after I got home from spending a couple nice days at one of my girlfriends houses, a friend of mine knocked on my front door with a big box of beer to share with everybody. Then one of my girlfriends showed up out of the blue and suddenly I was having a party. I was sitting in my living room playing my acoustic guitar when those people randomly knocked on my door, having not played for a couple days since I was not home for a couple days. Verle started singing along. And this hot mess is what it sounded like something, something (soundcloud.com)

[–] 3 pts

Haha you guys are always cranked up to level 10. Thanks for sharing this

[–] 2 pts

We had a blast! After this we put some music on the speakers and everybody was dancing!

[–] 2 pts

Awesome! Your house sounds like a blast to be at haha

[–] 2 pts

Next level Brother, you fellas seem to always have so much fun..... I'm jelly....

[–] 1 pt

LoL I can't even believe the things that happen to me are even real. Don't be jealous, it's just dumb luck!

[–] 2 pts

I need some of your dumb luck, not much in the way of music here since the rona came to town.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

This seems to happen to you with a regularity!!! Good on ya mate!!!

I always love to hear Animal, err, Verle singing along!

[–] 2 pts

I don't know how the hell this shit keeps on happening but I am not complaining.

[–] 3 pts (edited )

Hi guys. What a weird week, huh? The latest tool in the White House is a real doozy. I have a friend who lives a few time zones away. She and I occasionally talk politics, and she has been a firm supporter of Trump and Q for some time now. I haven't spoken with her since before Christmas, but it's about time for me to check on her. She's a wonderful and sweet lady, a mover and shaker in grassroots politics in her area of the country, but she was hardcore into the 5D chess. I hope it hasn't destroyed her faith in humanity. At the same time, I don't want to call her and discover she's still "trusting the plan". Weird week? Wtf, things have been really fucking weird for a year now.

When they told us we had to flatten the curve, We The People complied because we were told people in China were dropping dead in the streets. Well it's been over a year now, and I don't see anyone dropping dead in the streets in America. And I don't know anyone that's died of Covid-19. And the stats on the state registry show that almost 100% of the people that they claim as Covid-19 deaths (a) were over 60 years old, and (b) had "underlying conditions", such as heart disease, lung cancer, pneumonia, influenza, diabetes, others. And the handful of people I'm aware of that tested positive, never showed symptoms---paranoics that did the drive-thru tests, then willingly succombed to a three-week forced vacation. And the ICUs and ERs aren't over-whelmed. And my favorite Thai food restaurant went under. And two of my favorite Chinese restaurants are on the chopping block. And we're still being told by our elected officials and our media owners and Dr Bill Gates that we have to wear these God-damned masks and get the shots, and even if we get the shot, we still have to wear the mask, and probably get more shots. And I haven't seen a live show in a long time.

But I'm not bitter.

Here's my son (on accordion) and I playing "I'm Into Something Good" (soundcloud.com) by Gerry Goffin and Carole King.

[–] 3 pts

Damn, that's cool. Hell, I thought that was the Herman's Hermits song. I didn't know Goffin/King wrote this.

[–] 2 pts

Nice haven't heard this song in quite a while so very well done !

[–] 2 pts

Cool. Don't be bitter. There's a lot more going on than we know.

[–] 2 pts

How nice, glad you're playing with your kid. The accordion always seemed to me to take a lot of skills, much like the bagpipes. The air pressure plays as much a part as the fingering and takes a lot of skill.

I think a lot of people would be surprised just how many songs Carole, along with Gerry and after, are responsible for. So many hits.

[–] 2 pts

Here is one from last week when my friend Chris stopped bye and we jammed out for a couple of hours. It's an old Hank Williams classic, Jambalaya (soundcloud.com)

[–] 3 pts

Great song. Love Hank Williams. Actually I didn't even know Hank Williams did this song because I heard Creedence's version first when they did it back in the day. I thought it was their song. Same with Move It On Over. I thought that was George Thorogood's song. Same with B. J. Thomas's I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. Hank Williams is the greatest.

[–] 3 pts

Can't go wrong with Hank.. Nice!

[–] 1 pt

Thank you!

[–] 2 pts

You and Verles antics are the highlight of my week. You guys always make me smile

[–] 2 pts

Very cool, Hank is an all-time favorite of mine. You guys oughta do Kaw-Liga.

[–] 2 pts

And now for something completely different. This is an original composition by J, a brilliant multi-instrumentalist you frequently hear playing here with The Biff and TheBuddha Band and is also a band member in their regional live band BDE. Have your man-servant bring you a snifter of brandy and a fine cigar, settle back in your velvet dressing coat, and enjoy #7 (share.fngt.gq).

[–] 1 pt

This is tremendous!

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, she's pretty amazing. Keys, bass, guitar, strings, flute (I think), she does it all and each one very well. She's a remarkable woman.

[–] 1 pt

[stands and applauds, requests more]

[–] 2 pts

I doubt we'll be here long tonight. I'm enjoying my time with Biff and we're on vacation. I expect to be on vacation for all of January. We'll see if it ends when February gets here.

Anyhow, we're enjoying our time together and it seemed the most appropriate thing to share would be some jamming from our wedding reception.

Enjoy (hulkshare.com)!

I'm pretty sure we were all well and truly shitfaced by that point. And, I do mean both 'well and truly' and 'shitfaced'.

Rock on!

[–] [deleted] 3 pts

This sounds like my kind of wedding!

[–] 1 pt

I remember the important bits!

[–] 2 pts

Very nice, I'm sorry I missed out. Good thing this recording exists!

[–] 2 pts

It was one hell of a wedding reception! Glad ya liked it.

It was actually a 'small' affair. I think we maybe had 100 people total, and maybe not even that many. It was largely just close friends and family.

I love my wife regardless of the wedding. It was as much a statement to other people as it was a statement to ourselves. We were telling the world what we already knew, and that is that we wanted to commit and stay with each other for as long as possible.

[–] 1 pt

Sounds like the Wedding of the Century! Great jamming, man and wife! Hell yeah!

[–] 1 pt

I'm pretty sure we were all trashed by that point.

I had no plans to play at the wedding, but it happened.

[–] 1 pt

I am sure glad that you did! That was a treat to listen to!

[–] 1 pt

Sup, I finally remembered it is FNGT. Sorry, had a wisdom tooth and next door molar pulled Wednesday. First time having a smoke, and beer. I haven't touched a guitar in a loong time. Here's for Crazy, I said I'd do a cover to match his a while back: https://soundcloud.com/thewilake/over-the-hills-and-far-away

Here's a blues riff I wrote and don't know WTF to do: https://soundcloud.com/thewilake/blues-2

Here's the best of the bunch... I might have shared it back on VOAT, but this is my cousin. He wrote it, and played it live. He lived in Argentina and Chile for over 2 years teaching English. I tried to be a "producer" and had him try to harmonize the vocals. https://soundcloud.com/thewilake/wino-waltz

Oh crap, just noticed you commented in last weeks thread. We just started this weeks so maybe post these there.

[–] 1 pt

lol thanks, I thought that was a LOT for this early in a night.

[–] 0 pt

Great to see ya around. Lots to listen to in that one comment, give us a little while to listen.
