Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask COF, Crazy, or TheBuddha.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

There's almost always great new music being recorded. This was from the 90s and is probably my favorite GnR song.

The video is excellent and the guitar solos are monumental. It was Slash at his finest.

The 90s actually had a ton of great music.

It's true, there was good music that came out of the 90's, but so much of what got airplay was crap. It was hard to go from virtuosos to dudes who didn't even care if their guitars were in tune. I know that there was a lot from the 90's that didn't fall into that category, but there was an awful lot that did. That drove me away from what was popular at the time.

I think that's kinda true for every generation. Quite a bit of it is pure shit but a subset is pretty fucking awesome.

Also, there's quite a bit of grunge that I don't absolutely despise. I enjoy some of the alternative that led into it.

The early 90s were pretty rocking. Hell, that's when songs like Nothing Else Matters came out.

Right now, I'm in the middle of an experiment. I'm watching live television. I said I'd do it for the duration of the pandemic - not knowing it'd last this long. I'm a goddamned idiot. Anyhow, my next experiment is going to be listening to live radio. I dunno how long that'll last, but I'm going to explore current music.

The music that's surprised me the most are the songs my students are wanting to learn. They're invariably by self produced singer/songwriters, and they're great songs that are fun to play! Most of them have nice chord structures and are very well put together.
