I meant to drop this off here last week, but somehow I completely forgot, so here is MacPherson's Rant (hulkshare.com). This is a single we finished up not too terribly long ago.
This is the story of Jamie MacPherson, who was the son of a Scottish Laird and a gypsy. He was an unrivaled swordsman, and a great fiddle player. He was a bit of a scoundrel and tended to do a bit of robbing and stealing, but the fact that he was beloved by the people and the son of a Laird meant that anytime he was caught, he would get a reprieve. Finally, one local sheriff was so sick of it, he had them set the clock forward so they could hang him before the inbound reprieve could make it over the bridge of Banff. The clock face is still covered to this day, and MacPherson's broken fiddle rests in the MacPherson clan museum.
It features our new fiddle player, who I'm thrilled to be working with after years of sharing stages at various festivals.
I recorded the guitar part on my Emerald, which is a great live guitar, but has a pretty significant boost in the low mid that makes it a bit more difficult to record with. It needs a lot of EQ. I played the flute part on a Muramatsu EXIII.
Love the harmonies and the mix sounds great! I’m happy to hear another track from you my friend.
Thanks! I'm trying really hard to get back into the groove this year. I have a couple of new tracks in the pipeline, but they're much more difficult than anything I've recorded before. One is a medley that /u/NoTrueScotsman will appreciate, as it leads with The Atholl Highlanders.
I love your tunes. They're so different from everything. Been missing them. Glad you're back.
Sounds like you got yourself a good fiddle player. It seems fiddle players in your band are like drummers in spinal tap! Great song, sounds great and nice to see you again!

That comparison is often made!!
Love that line from the movie - "Yeah, our first drummer died choking on vomit...wasn't his".
Thats funny! I hope this one is the lucky one that gets to stick around a while
Mighty fine work Mr. Reems ... Bravo !
