You'll pick it up in context, if you just jump in. Everyone is pretty helpful.
One suggestion - don't shoot your load too quick. Don't dump like your entire body of work, just a track per week, maybe two.
One new comment, made to the thread, per submission. That'll help you get the greatest exposure.
Unlike many, many other threads and places - we don't mind if you use some tact and promote your band or album. That's fine. Just be tasteful about it. We're musicians. We understand the need to spend your time wisely and promoting your work is acceptable.
There's an entire other forum that goes along with it. That's where we have archives, a backup plan, and shit like that.
Thanks, yes I will just lurk at first till I get the hang, and I don't do any original stuff, just play for fun, was in a band years ago.
We (those affiliated with me specifically) do high end covers. We try to recreate the exact sound you got when you bought the album or listened to the song on the radio.
I'm actually a classical guitarist by training. My wife has been playing for a couple of years (she's quite young) and has been putting three or four hours in every day for most of that time. She takes very few days off, so she's learning quite well.
I also have a high-end, high-production cover band back home. We're the kinda band that comes rolling in with a giant box truck full of kit and even have a giant stage of our own - complete with roof and scaffolding. We perform almost exclusively for large audiences, generally exceeding 500 people but we prefer to start at 1000 people. We fill a very specific market niche, playing things like the main act once a week at county fairs and other large outdoor events.
In theory, I'm retired. I just suck at being retired.
Lurking the thread is a fine idea.
Wow, that's impressive.
If you have a link of you all playing that would be nice, or possibly you don't want to dox yourself.
I'll be back around later tonight, appreciate all that info.
