St. Louis's finest. Spanish Lake is up in n the northeast metro area near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Used to be a nice lilly-white sparse residential area up until the 1970s. Then the nogging commenced and it started to go to shit. Fren bought a place there circa 2010 - kids were grown and out of the house, so didn't care about the schools. House was a steal - nice setting, good neighbors, etc. But local commerce had been seriously nogged, housing projects came closer and property crimes ramped up. He sold in 2018 and moved to Wisconsin - even made a decent profit. It was hanging on then, but has since given up.
