I've heard from multiple sources these facts about electric cars and winter -

  • An electric car with its lithium batteries will lose around 25% of it's charge overnight on a mild winter's night due to the cold.
  • Because using electricity to produce heat is so inefficient, when driving an electric car in winter, 40% of battery usage will be used by the car's heater. Again, 40% on a mild winter day.

Electric cars do have their benefits. But they are novelty vehicles, much like how bicycles and motorbikes are novelty vehicles. Electric cars can not be used year round, and they are no where near being able to replace gas and diesel vehicles any time soon.

there simply might not be enough juice on the grid to recharge them

I wonder what the used EV market is like. The batteries have a fairly short lifespan, so if you buy a used EV, consider having to replace the battery pack soon after you acquire it.

Replacing a battery pack costs $30,000, and that's only if you can find a replacement battery pack somewhere, new or used, because they are very hard to find.

It's a clown's parade, and they rule over us. How that happened, I'm not sure. The quality of our "elected" politicians kept dropping lower and lower and lower, until today it's freaks and morons. The only way I can figure this is that the real people in control, the ones pulling the strings, like having puppets in elected office that they can wholly control. People such as Biden, Trudeau, Fetterman. The dumber the politicians, the less likely they are to try to act on their own initiative.

They’re shit in the winter anyway with current tech, they’re more useful as household batteries during the winter

Where do the dumb fuckers who buy these cars think the energy to drive them comes from? The EV fairy? No, it comes from coal or oil or natural gas.

It's much more efficient to put gasoline directly into an engine than it is to burn oil to generate electricity, that runs over lossy power lines, that charges a battery, that then drives an electrical motor in the car.

Where do the dumb fuckers who buy these cars think the energy to drive them comes from?

The power of the atom.

Lot of retarded people in Switzerland. So I guess they go back to gas motors now?
