Guess they should have worked a little harder.
They dropped their weapons and ran away, but this is why I don't get involved with people on that level.
Almost any American, including veterans will do the same and I had experience with this from an early age. Most men cannot take the stress of combat, for whatever reason.
To actively participate in combat, real combat with a real chance of death, not "recruit mode" US Army where you have so many buffers against risk, is to accept that you are probably not coming home and going all out to kill the enemy anyway. Even taking 4 or 5 fatal hits and continuing to slaughter the enemy.
Real combat is the equivalent of being an armed bank robber in a group of 5 or 6 with 15 cops after you and being that guy who calmly takes down 3 or 4 of them. Anyone with that level of ability is one in a million, someone that you could rely on anytime. Most people cannot do this with any amount of training.
They'll hold a rifle, put on a uniform and prance around a little, maybe take some pot shots at some poorly matched goat herder 500 yards away wielding a rusty SKS while they wait for air support.
That's why American soldiers who come back are not really badasses, they didn't really do much. They're still scared of run of the mill pigs while nigger gangbangers have wiped out 4 or 5 with an old rusty AK and no training.
Everything they did was part of a huge team and support is gone. They surrender very easily because they are scared and the people who normally take up the slack are no longer there, it's that simple.
What are they gonna do, call in air support? The air support is on the other side now. lol
