They're talking about long days to charge their battery with solar power. That means they think they're going to start driving from the North Pole in the Summer. Big problem: how are they going to "drive" over all of that melted ice? Outside of towns big enough to warrant owning cars (and getting fuel deliveries) there are hardly any roads. So they're going to drive across the tundra? If it's not rocky, then it is mossy mud. If they somehow get past the ocean and the tundra, they have to drive very far West (somewhere near the Northwest Territories and Yukon Border) for the only road that can take them South.

If they get past all of that, once they hit Mexico they are targets to get pulled over at gun point (or simply followed until they are forced to pull over and charge) and robbed of everything, and most likely killed.

That threat will be persistent throughout Central America (except maybe Costa Rica) and at least half of South America.
