I wish this were the case, but I believe it has more to do with stock valuations as a whole. Netflix isn't the only pandemic stay at home stock to have a dramatic crash this past year.

The fact that they were making money from propaganda at all shows how effective their methods are. They would do all of this as a cost.

Tell your friends about all the money they can save by just renting dvds from their local library, or free streaming sites, or just anything else. The worst thing normies hate is being thought of as stupid, and it's easy to make someone feel stupid for spending money they don't need to spend. It's stupid to pay for netflix, and if they really won't give it up, netflix has different prices in different countries. Get a VPN and start an account in a different country and the price will be way less. So it really is stupid to pay full price in the US.
