Damn. Very nice. Practically every meal I make (and I cook, on average, 5 out of 7 days in the week) begins with onions (and garlic).
Allium staves off colds.
You're god damned liar! That's 49lbs at best. Also nice onions hunion bunyons
Do you do anything special in your basement to have onions keep that long? Purples won't last a month for me before becoming soggy.
i dehumidify the basement, about 60% humidity, until october when the air just becomes naturally dry. no temp control in the basement - its 60 degrees down there right now, 50’s in the fall, and 40’s over winter.
some varieties keep better than others. purples in general don’t keep as long. if you are growing from seed, your seed supplier will let you know which varieties store better. i’m very happy with the patterson yellow onions for this reason.
Thanks.
