I subscribed. There are some really good videos regarding quail. They lay more than chickens and are far, far easier to prep for eating (you don't need special equipment).
Also, they don't make much noise.

Awesome, thanks! My ducks outlay my chickens and my quail outlay my ducks. Even though they're smaller, pound for pound it's still easier and faster to butcher quail.
The boys make an occasional ker-chuck noise, but your neighbors likely won't even notice.

I'm glad you and your family are getting that experience! I'm trying to get mine into that position asap, that's the way to live and the way to raise children.
