I agree. Built my own this year too. Won't ever pay off directly but the experience of building it, and learning to grow food, is worth something.

Ya, it's my 5th year overbuilding and gardening. I'm learning that just cause it will grow doesn't mean you will eat more than your compost pile. Spaghetti squash is one of my new staples

We can grow food. We can grow so much food that the government pays 'farmers' to not grow food. Do you understand that?

What’s it cost to keep heat going over winter? Really want a greenhouse.

It's about 150 a month to keep it heated to at least 45f. If I add more insulation or more efficient heaters it could drop to about 75.

Damn. That's a bit pricy. Does anything grow at 45f or do you need heat mats too?

Most plants will root and be happy at that temp. During the day it gets to about 85-90, 45 is just the nighttime temp.

Plants grow just fine in dirt without the 2 grand in material someone tricked you into buying
