Watching the documentary just made me sad. There is no hope for HL3. The old guard is exhausted, lacks inspiration, and refuses to create unless they strike gold. Makes sense, but how long has it been? Even for the sake of continuing the story, they won't do it. They decided to work on something they enjoyed and moved on to multiplayer games, and by the time they wanted to get back to ep3, it was too late. It's definitely very late now. How are they going to top HL2 and Episodes? They just can't. They have created a cage of creative block and refuse to get out.

Instead, they're spreading themselves thin with all these new multiplayer projects, some of which they end up abandoning, like L4D2. And what have they released lately? Grannylock? Oh yeah, Valve is a confirmed client of the sweet baby agency and it shows. Uninspired, hideous designs, with boring gameplay we've seen a thousand times before, woke af game. Instead of making what their customers want, they'd rather keep banning games on steam they don't like and printing out slop like shitlock any day of the week.

Let me guess what they'll make next. Instead of HL3, it'll either be a battle royale game, because just like wokelock, they're ten years late to the party. Or maybe an extraction shooter set in the HL universe with Combine vs. the Rebels. Fuck, that could have been good. Rebels would fight for resources, and Combine would fight for control and good goy points for the coveted non-mechanical reproduction simulation reward, lmao.

Anyway, fuck Valve. I'm grateful for the update, but I can't expect anything out of them anymore.
