It's pretty cool. Pretty hard too.

It's a post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland, and you and a group of wandering survivors stumble upon agiant pit sheltered from the wind, with this big "generator" contraption, powered by coal, in the middle of it, built by someone in preparation for the major event that caused the global freeze. You get the generator running and it produces heat but uses coal. Thus, you need a supply of coal to run it and dont ever let the coal run out or it will get cold and your people will suffer. You also need food, warm housing, wood, steel, and steam cores to build certain buildings or perform certain upgrades. You build a society and send scouts out to look for more survivors. But your people need to be taken care of. You make laws, build what they need, do whatever you can to keep them hopeful and content. If not, theyll overthrow you. Everyone needs a job. You have regular workers, children, and engineers. Engineers do better work that the normie workers though so take care of them. You can rule your society with an iron fist, or take a more liberal, religious route if you want. Every decision made by you, the leader, affects your citizens' attitudes toward you and everyone's survival.

Yeah I liked that one too and I went fascist lol. I only played the main storyline tho.

Same. Last night I finally got past the whole "Londoner" unrest, and then when they finally all tried to leave, I had my guards beat their asses to make them stay lol

Wait until you can build the immolation platform

I die around the same time everytime. Very hard game.

Yep. I've learned to save often

Yeah so the main negative thing about the game is the difficulty comes almost entirely from the narrative. Which is great for one playthrough. After that, it's just sort of an annoyance knowing that bad things are going to happen at certain times and microing the details of cleaning up after events.

Yep each time I get a bit farther because I know what the next part is. However I end up always pissing them off.

No niggers in that game. Very rare these days.

Also recommend.

Not true in the DLC you can import felons to do bitch work if you want. The picture depicting them is a crowd of niggers looking angry that they need to work. Only blacks I've seen so far though.

Hahaha, that had to be on purpose.

If you read all the text you get a few more gems. Like "The southern continents fell almost immediately unable or unwilling to prepare." or something like that.

Ask a coal miner and he will tell you it's not a game.

If you like frost punk i would also recommend this war of mine made by the same guys

I couldn't get into that one. What did you like about it?

[–] 0 pt

Its hard to get into at first but once you get the hang of the mechanics it becomes fun trying to see how you would fair if you where a civilian in a war torn area. You start getting low on food and supplies how would you react would you focus more on survival and rob the old lady down the street or would you stick to your morals and have your people start to starve.

Am i thr only one that struggled with this game?

It started and I didnt know anything ay all.

I just sat idle for like 30 minutes trying to figure out what to do.

Got it free on epic a while back, seems ok but I've seen better examples in its genre. If you like the genre you'll love it. If you've only dabbled you may or may not like it imho.

I recommend that game just for the music. Bought the soundtrack and just chill out with it sometimes. Incredible stuff.

It’s on my “list” but I wasn’t going to play it because it seemed like more of a world building game than an immersive sim with a story. Is there another game you can compare it to?

[–] 0 pt

Idk. Maybe like age of empires, but the weather and attitude of your citizens and resources are all a big deal. And you dont individually control your people, like "" go here, hit this tree for wood. " You give them jobs and they do their thing like people would. They eat and sleep and get sick and work and what not untill they run oit of work or you give them a different job. And other happenings happen too to make your job as commander difficult

Interesting, does it have a “campaign” that you can actually finish?

Its pretty tough on medium settings. I save my game a lot
