I've been playing "Oxygen Not Included", which I highly recommend. But I am feeling in the mood for something new.

Turn based or games that can be easily paused are a must.

Been looking at "RimWorld".

I like the game "work while you are getting paid". You decide what character class you are by agreeing to a "job", then you perform that job to the best of your abilities and they give you money.

[–] 6 pts

That works all the way until you end up picking a job that includes a lot of "hurry up and wait." It's not uncommon at all for me to have to just "be there in case something goes wrong" for eight hours or more. He may have something similar going.

then you perform that job to the best of your abilities

🤣🤣🤣

But srsly, I don't have much to do. This company wastes more labor than I've ever seen. I've told them as much and they don't seem to care.

Well I guess if they wanna pay you for nothing then play mtg arena

If you like tower defense, Gemcraft is pretty good - And there are like 7 of them out there by now. Used to be available as a flash game, but I don't think that's a thing anymore. You can probably find it though.

Spend the time investing in yourself.

Like I hobby make games to hone my programming and artistic skills

Damnit I want to make a turn based fighting game, based around office work now.

A wild Asst Manager appears!

[–] 3 pts

You used "lame excuse" on asst manager! It wasn't very effective!

Asst manager uses "unreasonable vocal level"! It's super effective!

perform that job to the best of your abilities

You must be an actual wage cuck. You perform as well as they pay you or else they will just take advantage of you.

[–] 1 pt

I own my own business, and your attitude is exactly what's wrong with everyone.

If YOU agree to do a job for a wage, you agreed to it. The quality of your work is not dependant on your pay. It is dependant on your pride in your work. If I agree to dig ditches for 4 bucks an hour, It's not a great job and I'm not getting paid enough, but I agreed to it, so I'm going to dig the best ditches on earth. If you can't understand that concept you will never make anything of yourself.

[–] 2 pts

This.

It's always the guys. And it is a male trait. Who give their all that succeed.

Because having pride in your work effort is damn habit forming

What if the owner is a Jew who got a low-interest business loan from another banker Jew?

[–] 0 pt

Then you work hard because it's an internal reason to want to do a good job at anything you do. If the circumstances make you not want to do a good job find new circumstances

He said: At work. Not: While getting paid by the hour to do anything else.

It's not my "style" either, but a lot of places are happy for people to sit in the office and play games during their downtime as long as they get a job done. Places literally encourage this.

factorio

Also two mobile games that you can dip in and out of are Deep Town and Shelter War. They are good because you can play them 10 mins a day on the crapper and while they're theoretically real time it's no big deal if you don't log in for 6 months, you'll pick up right where you left off. You can just use Nox emulator to play on a comp.

Factorio looks like a top pick here.

I did see it before and wondered if it was worth the 30 dollar price. Seems so given the amount of people recommending it.

[–] 1 pt

It's the gold standard of autism games like rimworld and ONI. You can get a demo copy pretty easily if $30 is a lot of money to you.

[–] 0 pt

I don't mind paying the 30 if it something I'll get enjoyment out of. Just didn't want to pay that and get bored in a couple of hours.

RimWorld is fun. Games you can pause indefinitely are always best for work.

Some 4x games I enjoy: Civilization games. Endless Legend / Space 1 & 2. (Waiting on Humankind, which looks great)

Grim Dawn, Kenshi, Foundation, Graveyard Keeper, Hammerting, Factorio, Terraria...

I play those games at work sometimes. Used to play a lot of modded Minecraft back before Microsoft bought it and started releasing a new version of the game once a week just about. The modded scene has gone all kinds of crazy since then.

Used to play the heck out of the Civ games, burnt out on that, but I'll check those other titles. Thanks,

[–] 0 pt

Does that include Gal Civ? You can easily kill some time endlessly customizing ships in there. Doesn't take much horsepower to run either.

[–] 0 pt

Never head of that. I'll take a look.

You can look into board games that have been adapted into apps. They are by definition turn based.

[–] 1 pt

Board games in general are better for you than video games

Find a boardgames group and join

It's being taken over by leftist though.

They are injecting crt in a 19th Russian Century Railway Barons and in German Medieval Fantasy.

It's getting harder to find publishers I want to support with my money.

[–] 0 pt

Yeah that sucks. They've taken everything from us

[–] 1 pt

Oh didn't think of that, good idea.

[–] 1 pt

Factorio is a good one.

[–] 1 pt

I'm going to have to check this on out for sure. A lot of people in the thread suggesting it.

[–] 1 pt

Frostpunk was fun. I'm playing Warhammer 40k battlesector now

[–] 1 pt

Try "Until We Die"

[–] 1 pt

Shattered Pixel Dungeon

[–] 1 pt

If you've ever liked runescape or things like it, try out Melvor Idle.

[–] 1 pt

Frostpunk is a very good

Have you played Ghost Trick? That’s next on my list at work. It’s on iOS at least.
