It wasn't Warcraft, it was Starcraft. Thats why the Terrans are basically Space Marines, Zerg are Tyranids, and Protoss are Eldar. But since the video said the devs were big Warhammer fans and copied the art style, I guess its not a stretch that they did the same thing with Starcraft/40k.
At the beginning of the video I clarified that some people think the original rumor was about Starcraft, but it was actually about Warcraft, the rumor has just deviated a bit from the source.
Especially since more people remember their newer game (Starcraft) better than the very first Warcraft (1994)

So they did copy GW twice then. Thats interesting. GW basically copies and pastes the Tolkien fantasy tropes into space for 40k anyway.
and funnily enough while blizzard copied the general idea of protess and zerg for Eldar and Nids, and copied marines pretty much full stop, GW then counter-copied Blizzard by making Tyranids become more Zerg-like in post-starcraft editions of 40k. look at old tyranid models and they're a lot closer to xenomorphs while modern nids and zerg as basically identical.
Honestly this is just worse if the rumor isn't true, since they still copied Warhammer but made it crappier.
