I was surprised as well. Technically Söderlund did "fall upwards" and became CEO of Embark studios, but they're small and practically unheard of.
A guy at his level doesn't really get fired though. It's more of a "I will pay you to stop fucking up my company" scenario. And that's what happened.
With Battlefield 6 coming around the corner, I'm very interested to see if it's good or bad.
