Again, this isn't about who's hosting your marketing materials. Google has a monopoly on Android app publishing through the Play store, unless you're Epic Games no one will buy/install your .apk's manually.
babby's first YouTube alternative isn't solving any of this.
You can tell who's a boomer and who's completely out of touch with reality when they suggest you get into something like IT/development without ever interacting with the juggernauts who dominate the entire sector.
I'm not sure who your post is directed at but it seems that you're reading into people's comments a bit.
I personally am only telling people to have multiple options and back-ups when dealing with Google. And to use alternative services whenever possible.
A) You can install .apks directly from a website and there are other app stores besides Google play.
B) You place a link to a webpage on the home screen of your phone and it will almost fully like a web app from the app store. This is a very viable option provided people set up a proper mobile version of their website as needed.
