It's funny, because my last nvidia card was an 8800 something or other. I haven't used an nvidia card since then, because fuck them, I still remember what they did to 3dfx. I've never had all the issues with amd drivers that other people have. Guess I've been lucky.
before that card all my other amd cards were good it was that one that refused to it was an r9390x. i updated the drivers every time one came out it would work a while then back to the error screens. i guess this whole thing is like trying to convince someone why they should be drinking coke or pepsi.
Nah. I'm not one for discounting someone's anecdotal experience. I had an r9 280x before what I have now, and it worked fine for a couple of years, and then started acting strange. I thought it may have been drivers at that point, and about a week later the power circuitry just gave up on it, and it wouldn't display anything anymore. (I tried running it in multiple computers.) When I put the replacement grahpics card in, the power supply went, so I'd imagine the problem was related.
i think about it now and i couldn't get my 2 monitors to work using 2 display port cables i had to use 2 hdmi cables or one hdmi and one display port or the monitor would go blank periodically. tried different cables i had and messed with it for an hour or so then just used what made it work. some systems i put them together and they work flawlessly some they just need tons of tweaks here and there i remember my work computer kept crashing until i disabled that ssd fast boot option it was a total pain to figure it out.
