How much could they possibly get for these to make them risk worth it? Also who is buying them?

Not sure how much a scrapper/ junkyards are giving for them, should depend on the weight. Platinum and the platinum family metals are always fluctuating. Should be near a thousand for one troy ounce of pure platinum now. Doubtful there's even a half ounce of mixed precious metals in any single one. There's two ways to get the PM's back, melt and cupel or use acids and reclaim them. Both dangerous in their own way.

We had one of these stolen off an old pickup with all the tires flat, sank into the ground a few inches and it had snow drifted all around it. Fuckers are dedicated he used a hack saw blade, just the blade the whole saw wouldn't have fit, and he brought his own screw jack that he left behind. The jack was so crooked no way would I go under there. I don't know how he got it high enough to get the jack under there either.
