Not many men know about it, and many that do, just put it into the same category as penis pills, aka snake oil. Even then, if they do try it, the gains aren't instant, so they stop when they don't see anything after a couple weeks. Something like that, you need to go at it for a year at least.
Personally, I'm not going to do that for a year and a half just to get an inch. But true the gains materialize a lot faster when lifting. Maybe more people would be motivated to do it if they got some beginning gains that could notice in the mirror in like a month or two.
Stretches will get length gains pretty quick but they're limited gains. You should be doing them at the same time as jelqing anyway, as it helps avoid injury. The stretching gains will give out around the time the jelqing gains start picking up.
