Karen aside, it doesn't really matter whether he's blind, it's still unsettling to have someone's eyes looking at you constantly. Basic instincts at play.

I don't believe that's the crux of it. You're right, of course, but the entire story should have ended the second he confirmed he's blind.

At this point, the issue strictly becomes one of her own failure and that's where it should have ended. If she can't accept he's blind and can't physically determine someone is in eye line, therefore isn't staring at her, she should be verbally dressed down.

It kinda does matter that he's blind tho, that's the whole point of this. Why is she looking at where other peoples eyes are, anyway ??. Shouldn't she just carry on with what she is doing, almost like individuals that go out of their way to walk right up to someone with a camera just to say 'I don't wanna be on film'.
