Well it's an 8 month flight with current tech and a worldwide fuel shortage so they kind of jumped the gun.
Do you realize how much fuel and equipment is required to do an 8 month space flight to a planet with zero water and oxygen with freezing temperatures? Do you know how much fuel is required just to move 1 lb in space? And also, when they finally are freezing to death and cannot breathe it's another 8 months back to Earth. 16 months of travel in a spacecraft to go to a desolate planet. Hmm... I'll pass.
