The main difference right now (and largest) is that Governments change and the majority of people still feel that their voices can alter how things work , including laws for/against their money.

Regardless if they are or not, the reality exists that the system/structure that western countries is BUILT upon says that they DO have the ABILITY to change it.

Voting mattered for well over 200 years in this country. It's only more recently that it's been so corrupted , on a massive enough scale, that its become meaningless.
The blueprint has never changed, only the ramifications for subverting it. We have to first be in a major agreement that shit is broken, without that there will never be a call to change (it back to something meaningful)
