I'd like to think this is a thing but since we're so bad at policing ignorant posts, I have no reason to think this isn't a legitimate step in disarming. Anyone with a clue able to weigh in? Is this covering an open panel or something?

I'm no EOD, but it doesn't look like there's a hole under that sheet. The casing is rusty too, and the ground looks like it's been dug up rather than impacted.

I don't think that's rust. It's an earth tone in camouflage. Dirt brown and tan.

All I can think of is if it is covering a hole, maybe it's keeping water out.
