My point was mainly that high gas prices in European countries present a different situation from high gas prices in the US because of the sheer land area.

Oh yeah man it's crazy how fucking expensive everything is.
And The real inflation is close to 20% now. Official one tries to be under 10% :) the prices of electricity and gas for businesses went up this year by hundreds of %. Highest I heard was 800% for gas. The best is yet to come. Our government lowered taxes for fuel some time ago. It dropped the price by about 15%. They also lowered VAT on food. That was before Ukraine. The price for a gallon is $6 and that is with the lowered tax. Soon it will go back to the original value as it is a temporary solution for higher prices. Oh, and they pushed through something they call New Polish Order. In propaganda it lowers taxes and other lies, in practice it destroys the middle class. Our prime minister is a member of the chosen people. He was recorder saying that Polish people are supposed to work their asses off for a bowl of rice.
