Not always. 4/10 girl in my Chairforce, S Korean unit, slampig. Ended up stationed at the same stateside base after Korea. She threw it wrong. Even dudes who threw it that way would have a similar result (short throw). You have to lob it underhand. Overhand throws on grenades are a huge fail.

Maybe we have different definitions of overhand, but that's pretty much the way I was talking about.

I guess technically overhand/underhand depends on what the follow through is, but regardless your pic there does demonstrate the right way to get the momentum to actually have it go more than a couple feet.

So you basically don't know the difference between underhand and overhand in general.

See the opposite hand in the air like the plastic figure the other guy posted, followed by an overhand throw. That's a normal grande throw. If you throw underhand it's going to hit whatever cover you are using. If you are just out in the open and just throwing grenades everywhere you are doing it wrong.

I kind of oversimplified my message here, it's more about the windup than whether it goes over or underhand on the follow through. But you can't really start it like a softball throw with your hand in the upraised position and get any decent range on em.

If your army men started from the position CrashOverdone posted a picture of one in, it would still be a good throw.
