This was some kind of stunt. I bet he planned on leaving spotify anyway and this was just so he could announce from the rooftops about how woke and gay he is.

hahaha this old fuck expects to lose 60% of his streaming revenue but also implores other artists to leave spotify on the same grounds.

just because you "hit it big" back in your laurel canyon days doesn't mean we give a fuck 60 years later. what a tool.

why is it that covid seems like just another opportunity for the boomer narcissists to make everything about themselves once more?

Artists don’t even make very much from streaming services. The record company probably didn’t support him in this ludicrous endeavor because they will be the ones taking the financial hit. Another indication that these type of people are full of shit and would never put their ass on the line to stand up for something they believe in. Fake fake fake

he doesn't even own his own music anymore, he sold to someone else who he just fucked over. I'm waiting for the inevitable lawsuit.

It does sound fishy. I wouldn't rule out that this is some psyop. Have Neil Young make a very public ultimatum to rally a certain cross-section of people around Joe Rogan... and then what?

I have no idea what it could mean, but I doubt they paid $100 million to Rogan for nothing. What will Rogan go on to do with his man-of-the-people persona? Will some kind of silver lining emerge for Young resulting from his participation in this? We'll see, I guess.

Probably a play to buy his music back since he doesn't own it. Probably some jew clause in the Spotify contract.

Nah he's arrogant and thinks his lousy falsetto and stupid songs are relevant.

You mean one of those bad attention is better than no attention at all things?

It all depends on who he thinks his target audience is.
