boyfriend is obviously a beta because he's paying another man to do his building work for him
it's a man's job to learn any skills required for his life, maybe she subconsciously senses this
the only thing you need help for is pouring concrete, and you should have friends who'd love to help do that with you
And electrical shit.. Im not fucking with electricity..
And electrical
It's got a much higher bar to do it properly because they are a lot of safety factors and correct ways to spec and install stuff, and sloppy work will burn your house down. And a lot of that is non obvious, and different countries have their own ideas about how to do things (like we use a ring circuit) But if you are just modifying existing circuits and are super neat about wiring then it's mostly OK.
Having seen the god awful shit I've pulled out of walls from "professionals", then they are all clearly working down to a price point, and I've got all day to do it right, so I'm happy that my wiring is better.
And it's nice coming back to repair a damaged socket remembering that you left a bit of slack there for the next guy, and it happened to be me.
Same for plumbing, I'm happy coming back to my jobs because I know I've added cut off valves to everything so every fix is going to be easy. Unlike the last "professional" who somehow managed to install full central heating without an apparent drain valve anywhere...?
Throw a cat in the bathtub along with the toaster
Why do you hate cats so much? They are a superior pet to have. Who hurt you?
Depends, it's also good to know your limits. I can do plumbing but when I had my house re-piped damn right I hired a plumber. My house needs new asphalt shingles, I have done lots of roof work, but damn right i'm hiring a roofer. I know how to work on my truck and even have my friend's auto shop to do it in. I'm not doing an transmission rebuild there, I'll take it to a specialty shop. It will be done faster and I won't be a multi day burden on my friend.
yes, I wouldn't do a lot of car stuff simply for the speciality tools and knowledge required, and I need a working car. And to be fair a lot of big jobs require an empty house and no wife to make tutting noises about the mess.
It's important to know how to do stuff if you had no choice, if say you lost your job
If I had the money to pay people for everything I wouldn’t do shit. I wouldn’t repair anything. I would never work on my car. Nothing.
If I had the money
rich people's lives are fundamentally not that different, you might imagine that sitting on a yacht is fun, but do it a few times and its dull. they have the same stressful family crap to deal with regardless, the same relationship problems, the same existential angst about everything
what they don't have is any stress about losing any material stuff, so they will always have food and shelter.
most people can secure food and shelter for themselves, and with skills/education you can secure a lifetime of money too
So,you would rather be a 'soiboi' if you had the cash?
