They are men and women that were born gay, but have fallen into a subculture of dressing themselves up to match their sexual orientation. I don't have a problem with it as long as the MSM doesn't encourage them to prey on children (especially prepubescent children) who are impressionable and could end up scarred for life. I also don't think the subculture of cross-dressing is particularly helpful to a functioning society. I don't think we need to go around beating gay people for cross-dressing, but I also don't think the MSM should be glamorizing and popularizing the subculture. The idea that men can be women and women can be men IS mental illness and is totally insidious. With the extremely rare exception of hermaphrodites, which are such a tiny percentage of the population we shouldn't be shaping culture around them, there are straight men, straight women, and gay men and women. Dressing up like the other sex is a choice. Getting surgery to become the other gender is fucking crazy. If someone really wants to do that, that's their choice, but the MSM should NOT be normalizing surgery for gay people who fall into a cross-dressing subculture. That's a bridge too far. The people who get that surgery end up killing themselves. It's not natural or healthy.
