It's not that she's stupid it's that she thinks of "X miles per hour" as one unit itself rather than a rate of the unit "per hour". That's the entire problem here.
Imagine two beakers filled with the exact same amount of water. One tall and skinny. One short and wide. For the average (White) adult its easy figure out that the water level would appear higher in the tall and skinny than the short and wide beaker even though its the same amount of water. In developmental studies of children kids under the age 7-8 can not grasp that concept. It's not stupidity. Their brains physically, biologically can not process that notion. For a man of average intelligence its hard to imagine not being able to grasp such a simple concept but its true.
Many women are like these young children in their faculties. Their brains can not process many abstract concepts like men.
