Why not? Pizza Hut could simply be an innocent backdrop in whatever drama is playing out here. Why do you hate Pizza Hut? Or, and keep in mind this is merely conjecture here, this could have been from another alternate future history. A scene from "The Franchise Wars" alluded to in "The Demolition Man" in which this poor man is just another victim of the brutal Taco Bell hegemony, having stripped off his Pizza Hut uniform, and is desperately fleeing the scene (like the "Napalm Girl" in Vietnam), trying to get clear of it ahead of the incoming Taco Bell airstrike/artillery and follow-on ground assault. And Jesus is coming to save him. This would also help explain the complete lack of any other traffic in the scene. It's a fucking warzone.
