Have you ever heard of gibiru.com? I don't have any background info on it but I've used it. It's pretty lightweight. Not sure what keeps it afloat though.

Never heard of it; would have to do some sleuthing. I don't trust a lot of these new search engines, however, since they're usually basic meta-search-engines that scrape Google/Bing/Yahoo, etc. Even if they do protect your privacy, you can't get accurate results by working with a tainted data-pool. I could be wrong, would have to look in to them.

It was actually someone on Voat that had mentioned gibiru.com when a similar thread came up about google alternatives. But if you happen to find out anything useful, please share it with us.
