They're acting like it will be temporary. But the longer it goes on, the more entrenched they'll become; establishing administrations, recruiting additional personnel, etc.

Expanding to fill the role vacated by the private sector, the institutions will become dependent on the dollars provided by the government, and those dollars will far exceed those collected from the crippled-by-design, heavily-regulated insurance regime.

A lack of nurses is not a emergency requiring national guard. Misappropriation of national guard resources in the face of a out of control border.

They actually shouldn't exist at all. The militia is meant to come from the people directly. Those militias got nationalized in WWII and became the national guard. It's a way for the government to have troops operating on domestic soil.

It's not going to work. National Guard is a part time gig. NY National Guard is all NY residents.

Do you know what NY NG doctors and nurses do when they aren't serving in the NG? They are doctors and nurses in NY.

So all this will do is take a doctor who is making his doctor salary, take him out of that job, and put him in the same job in a hospital across town -- but on an O-3 salary now.
