The Jomon/Ainu were(are) Ainuid. They are genetically descedants of an ancient population from Central-Asia. They are not closely related to any other modern race.
Some scientists argue that they are proto-Mongoloid. But a recent Japanese researcher and scientists, still see them as a proto-Caucasoid type.

I would post my DNA profile here, but I don’t want to leave evidence of being 40% Jew like everyone has suspected. I do actually have a genetic skeleton in my closet and that js that my Great Grandmother was apparently a Turkic-Italian, so I’m genetically 16% Turkish.
The story with the Roman DNA was in northwest china rather than coastal china. However the Romans never made it that far east to my knowledge but the tocharians certainly did and their descendents live there today. The tocharians were originally basically giant white people who spoke a WESTERN Aryan language. The language is still spoken but dying I believe. The ancient language was used to record a lot of Buddhist scriptures in antiquity so it's also preserved.
There are a ton of tocharians mummies in the region, and they are clearly white people, some of whom have blonde or red hair. There is one female mummy that was 6'6", so a giant for back then. Avg. Roman man was only like 5'5".
Their clothes are still preserved too and look very similar to what would have been seen in iron age Celtic or Germanic populations.
This is also the region where there are a ton of pyramids that were clearly man made. The Chinese govt is doing what it can to obscure these however, and have even been planting trees on top of them.
Briefly, we know Aryans are the ones who united China. Likely some of the first emperors who moved them from tribes to feudal states. Somewhere along the lines, the Japanese broke off. Basically the Japanese are fairly close to what the Chinese were before their four purges.
Imoho, their purges were really about removing Aryan influence and genetics. I might be wrong on that too. Just conjecture.
Regardless, I fully expect there have been multiple points in time in which Aryan genetics are injected into various Asian populations. Including China and japan.
