I disagree. Employment is a contractual agreement (that's the key word) between two parties. If one doesn't like it then find another employee or employer. If people were better educated they might be better negotiators but that's why they are the employee and not the employer. Also, don't forget the wage an employee receives is NOT what the employer pays for that employee. It's easily 25-35% more. As a teenager I had plenty of money working part-time for far less than the minimum wage today. It was hard work but I did it with a smile. I also knew it was just a starting point for greater things that I would try to accomplish later in life. Three major things have contributed to this employment shit storm and that's the constantly declining purchasing power of money, a shitty education system and air conditioning. A/C isn't given enough credit for creating the bitch-ass state of most Western men and women. There should not be a minimum wage, period. Most business owners understand this and how it affects the bottom-line. They went into business so their family could live comfortably, not yours. If they can do both, great! That's a damn good employer. This whole "I deserve X for Y or I'll complain and quit" is just another part of woman-think. Notice I didn't say feminist because this is not exclusive to feminist women. Women haven't built shit so why do modern men act like that and think it will get them or society anywhere? I'm sure you're going to say it's the big corporations doing this and that's only partially true. It goes back to the bitch state of the workforce. If we had stronger, more courageous, risk taking men then we would have more smaller businesses and less mega-corps. But nah, most folks are too afraid to go that route so they take whatever shit job they can find, making a shit wage and do nothing but complain that its not their own fault they are a bitch.
