So,you are seeing the same situation I'm seeing?

This is really a dire situation,I spent 22 years in the USNavy,I am (by law) sworn to uphold the "Constitution" of the United States.

And we also swore to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Also, you're never really relieved of that oath. It's a fucking oath. It's forever.

Our superiors were not using us to do things that protected us from enemies of the Constitution. Our commanders used us to defeat enemies of Israel. I swore no oath to Israel, but I hear a congress members have to, and I thought I read something about servicemen having to swear some kind of oath to Israel now too (could be wrong about that).

It's all so tiresome.

Swear an oath to isreal? Not in this lifetime.

Oaths don't mean much to most people nowadays.

I take it very seriously. Deadly seriously. I admire our ancestors who swore oaths of loyalty and upheld them. Through that kind of sheer dedication, almost anything is within your reach.

This is why we used to force kids to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and perform other similar ceremonies. To show them that no matter what, there was always one thing they had- they are an American, and we're the fucking best by an objective standard. But now nationalism is a dirty word, and kids can fucking kneel in class during the Pledge.

On kneeling... I'm not religious, but isn't kneeling only meant to be done for prayer and in church when it comes to Christians? Like they wouldn't kneel before foreign kings, and they wouldn't be beheaded because the king understood the cultural significance of kneeling to Christian peoples, and as long as the Christians made up for this lack of kneeling with a deep bow or some other gesture of deference that says "You are the boss of me, next to my God". So all of these self-proclaimed, church-going "Christians" who take a knee as a political gesture are sort of... heretics, right?
