These movies aren't being made for American audiences anymore. There's only 330m of us so it's a lot more profitable to beg communist china to show the movie to their 200 gorillion people
And the plot lines for pandering to the Chinese are painfully repetitive and predictable. It's always something about culture and learning to respect traditions, something with a dragon (the Chinese kind that's weird with no wings), no fatties, nothing criticizing the government, etc.
Sounds a lot better than the shit being pushed over here. Part of the reason Chinese films are growing in popularity compared to Hollywood.
