She should have enough of a buffer in between the cars after the initial break check. Nope, bitch road rages and crashes into the guy. The whole thing was avoidable.
I had an off duty cop try to wedge himself in front me in heavy traffic. There was simply no room in the bumper to bumper traffic. So he jerked his wheel to pretend I struck him with my bumper. I'm driving a ten wheeler long bed truck fully loaded and I knew I made no contact. Eventually he does get in front of me and comes to a complete stop in rush hour traffic on this eight lane freeway. I find a spot and go around him. Again he gets in front of me, flashes a badge out the window and comes to a complete stop in my lane. Again I wait for an opening , merge left and continue. So he comes into the number two lane tries again so I merge left into number three. By then my escort had realized what was going on and pulled out from behind me to take the lead, going between me and this raging off duty cop. BTW, the cop has a blonde in his sports car and it's obvious she is yelling at him to stop this insanity. As he now realizes I have two people in the escort truck as witnesses and his girlfriend is terrified he surges ahead weaving between cars to get away.
I kept my cool the entire time with goal to get my load back to the shop most important. Load safety is primary concern. The emotions I felt could be waited out in the safety of home. Sure I was upset and angry, but that's just emotion. I wished an on duty highway patrol had seen it and done something. I'm not the law and I can't stop people from doing crazy stuff. I also can't jerk my load all over or there would be a complete shutdown of the freeway with 120 steel drums scattered in heavy traffic.
Tl:DR: That woman had no excuse for her insane behavior. None. If I can keep my cool, anyone can. If a person can't behave rationally and control their emotions they have no business driving.
BTW, my situation WAS way worse. The cop didn't just tap his brakes a couple times to get me to back off. He was getting in front of me and SLAMMING on his brakes to come to a complete stop. He did this in outside number four lane, number three, number two and tried again back in number three before my escort got between us. The first time I almost rear ended him but after that I realized he was trying to cause an accident so he could get my personal details. Each time he pulled this maneuver I let off the pedal and dropped back which seemed to further enrage him. If I had let him get out of his car by waiting for him I would have been beatdown and charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. You think I wasn't terrified? The driver of the escort was my grandfather and grandmother with him. I was also worried about their health and safety. In the end on arriving back at the shop they were quite excited by the experience and proud they scared off the rogue cop. Yes, they saw the bastard waving his badge as if it was a license for highway mayhem. That pissed them off. Being right behind me they literally saw everything. When they cop realized the pickup tailing me the entire time had seen everything and were obviously with me and running interference he fled. I had a feeling of great relief it was over and then a warm feeling of pride my grandparents had stepped up to defend me. By myself the outcome would more likely have ended in tragedy.
Always keep your emotions in check and ignore those negative emotions. The main thing is to get safely to your destination. It's understandable to be upset with rude or careless drivers but you can't let those emotions distract you from your number one priority. Get there safely.
You make no sense. Late to work so go into a murderous rage and hurt your kid? If it was really about time she wouldn't be tailing that guy and trying to cut him off in traffic. So how late would she be if she just hung back and gave that lane hog some space? BTW, getting an early start avoids being tardy. Do you believe I was fine with being stopped over and over on the freeway? I was terrified this guy had a gun and a badge and would kill me under color of law. I wanted nothing more than to get home safely with my load and be back at the shop but allowing myself to rise to the bait would have cost our family thousands, maybe lost the truck and the cargo and killed or injured myself and many other drivers. Once again, there is no excuse.
