Around here the cops won't do anything when you're the victim of a crime unless you keep calling them. Then they will trump up charges on you for protecting yourself after being harassed, threatened, and assaulted for days straight.

Beg for mercy? I'm going to give the magistrate the DVD, tell him I had been calling the cops because my roommate was busting in on me for days straight, that he wouldn't look at the video, and that he lied in the report as the 911 logs and the DVD proves, then tell him to contact me by mail because I'm not wasting any more time there. What are they going to do? Malicious prosecution can actually get a cop, DA< and judge on the hook for civil damages. Qualified immunity doesn't cover that.
