Ebola kills before it has a chance to spread and infect others, so not many people tend to get it.

COVID with a much higher transmission rate is much more deadly even with a lower mortality rate.

So 1% for such a disease is high, and 5% is extremely high.

You don't get to pilpul your way out of this. A very deadly disease has a high mortality rate, it's very virulent. Ebola is one of them.

A very transmissible disease spreads easily and fast. The flu is one of them.

You know something funny? The flu has about the same mortality rate for 75 and older.
