Damn, that's so true. They're like dealing with the textbook definition of "can't see the forest for the trees." They take a freshman philosophy 101 class and for the next 20 years shoehorn "existentialist" or "nihilist" as a comfort blanket response to pretty much anything outside their current level of ignorance.
